DESCRIPTION

Armchair, after models by Mücke Melder; Hungary, 1930s.
Chromed tubular steel.
Measurements: 80 x 65 x 77 cm.
Armchair with chromed tubular steel structure, upholstered seat and reinforced armrests. The piece follows the models of Mücke-Melder, a Czech modernist furniture manufacturer specializing in tubular steel chair and table designs. Based in Fryštát, Mücke-Melder produced furniture inspired by the contemporary designs of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer and Le Corbusier, among others, which enchanted the Czech avant-garde of the time.
