Philipp Plein is a German fashion designer born in Munich who is dedicated to the creation of fashion and luxury furniture. He studied law in 1998. He started working on interior furnishings, using stainless steel and crocodile skin. To avoid waste, he used the leftover material to create bags and accessories, which he began selling alongside his furniture. The designer experienced a turning point in his career in 2003, when he was asked to set up the Moët & Chandon brand show at the German CPD Düsseldorf trade fair, where he was also invited to present and sell his clothing line. A year later, in 2004, he created his first brand, which offered casual wear, the origin of the current ready-to-wear brand. In 2016, Plein was named GQ Germany's Man of the Year in the "Designer of the Year" category. Today, the brand has numerous stores spread across all continents and presents its collections on the most important catwalks such as Milan, New York or London.
