The Maison itself tells the story of the birth of the Chaîne d'ancre motif as follows: "In 1937, Robert Dumas was strolling along the Normandy coast observing the ships at anchor. His gaze fell on the anchor chains that held them and, soon after, the contours of the emblematic Chaîne d'ancre took shape." Since then, this motif has become an inexhaustible source of inspiration, constantly reinterpreted freely in a multitude of shapes and materials.
