Naveta in sterling silver. Piece of great sobriety, only altered by three grooved lines in the upper part on the edge of the lids.
The naveta is a type of religious goldsmithery that emerged in the thirteenth century and whose function is to keep the incense used during the rite. In the 15th century, perhaps due to the influence of overseas voyages, this type of pieces will begin to copy the shape of the ships of the time, from simple navetas with the shape of the hull of a real ship to authentic masterpieces that include even the carpentry. It is also at this time when the naveta transcends the religious sphere and begins to be used in table service, as a spice rack.
