Johann Heinrich Leder received a princely privilege from Schwarzburg in 1822 and founded a porcelain factory. The factory was taken over by the Heubach brothers as early as 1840. The participation in the universal exhibitions in Paris (1900) and St. Louis (1904) was a great honor for the company. Under the important influence of the sculptor Wilhelm Krieger, production focused on figurative pieces. Otto Friedrich zu Ysenburg und Büdingen took over the company in 1938. Shortly before the founding of the GDR, the property was expropriated in 1948 and transformed into the Lichte decorative porcelain factory (VEB).
