Sewing machine that is operated by moving the wheel at the back. It is decorated with gilt borders and vegetalised shapes.
Charles Raymond began making sewing machines in 1857. His production reached 28,000 per year. In 1897 he sold the company and continued as the Raymond Sewing Machine Company before it was taken over by the White Sewing Machine Co in 1916, whose factory closed in 1922.
