In this pair of portraits the stylistic imprint of the Italian school of the 19th century can be appreciated. Both canvases show the physiognomy of a lady characterized with verism and detailed brushstroke, with a miniaturist's pulse. The ears of corn held by one of the protagonists indicate that it is an allegory of summer, while the grapes and vine leaves of her companion allude to autumn. These are two works full of color, delicacy and charm.
