The "Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España", founded in Haro in 1879, has been in the same family for four generations. An important part of its production comes from its own vineyards. Only when there were exceptional harvests in Rioja, CVNE produced the great reserves of Viña Real with aging in oak barrels and the appropriate complement of time in the bottle, an example of robust wine, intense color, evolved, ayodado, mature flavors and balance.
The CVNE winery (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) originated in 1879, and today still maintains its original site, the Barrio de la Estación winery in Haro, in the Rioja Alta region. At CVNE, the winemaking process is still cared for with the same dedication and commitment as in the early years of the company. And care is taken from the beginning, from the time the grapes are on the vine until the wine rests in the bottle. CVNE was one of the first wineries in La Rioja to bottle, and already in 1900 it had an extraordinary ageing capacity of 80,000 bottles, something unusual at a time when it was normal to dispatch the wine as soon as possible. Today, for CVNE, bottling continues to be a process to be pampered.
