"De humani corporis fabrica libri septem" ("Of the structure of the human body in seven books") is a work on anatomy, richly illustrated with allegorical images, written by Andries Van Wessel in 1543. Latinized Vesalius, this author based his anatomical studies on direct observation and surgical practice, rejected some errors present in previous works and contributed new discoveries that revolutionized the circles of the time and have led him to be considered the founder of modern anatomy.
