Lamp with iron foot and blue glass lampshade in gradient. The piece has a signature of "Le verre Francais", perhaps alluding to a special line of artistic glass designs manufactured by the Schneider Glassworks in France between 1918 and 1932. The Schneiders used this name for vases, bowls, goblets, lamps, etc., made of 2- or 3-ply cameo glass, in a style that combined art deco and art nouveau elements.
This line was first introduced in 1918 and was sold in his own gallery in Paris, run by his sister Ernestine. Le Verre Francais glass was also sold in department stores in Paris, the United States and Europe.
