Joan Barbará is one of the artists who have offered their works to Fundación Funamment (Salut Mental), to contribute to improve the quality of life of people with mental health problems. In addition to acquiring a work of a reference artist, you make it easier for us to continue accompanying these people and improving their quality of life.

In 1944 he opened his first painting workshop and studied with leading figures such as Antoni Prats, Francisco Mèlich and Eduard Chimot. In 1950 he opened his first engraving workshop and in 1957 he received a scholarship from the French Institute and worked at the Georges Leblanc workshop, Acadèmie La Grande Chaumière and Atelier 17 in Paris. His most prolific period is between 1968 and 1990, with exhibitions and conferences all over Europe. He is one of the most solid artists of the second half of the 20th century. In his paintings and drawings he has shown a great sensitivity for classical forms, all arising from the artistic modalities and cultural landscapes of our civilization. In general his work is characterized by its great quality, either in any inflection of nuance, either in its realization, and for his extraordinary sensitivity plicada to historical wisdom. Among the last outstanding exhibitions are "50 years of engraving" Art Center Sta. Monica, Barcelona, touring Spain and Europe (2002); "Structures and meanings", Sala Dalmau, Barcelona (2008) and "Synergy of art", Gomez Turu Gallery, Barcelona (2009).
