Sculpture for processional use of recumbent Christ in its glazed wooden urn. The carving, round and full body, denotes a quality turning in each of the members, looking for a pronounced verism in the harassed flesh, with its visible stigmata on feet, knees and hands. The wiry torso reveals under the thin skin the drawing of the ribs and the sternum. The sinews and relaxed muscles are carefully reproduced, and the half-open mouth on a peaceful face conveys the peace of the soul in a body that has ceased to suffer.
