This six-liter bottle from Château Raymond Lafon has the D.O Appellation Sauternes Contrôlée and is made with the Sémillon variety 80% and Sauvignon Blanc 20%. It is made by the winery purchased by the Meslier family in 1972, which has 18 hectares that produces a traditional sauternes, and recognized as one of the liquor grands crus of Bordeaux. As tradition demands, in the Château Raymond-Lafon vineyard it is harvested by hand, by successive selections. The harvesting of a grain depends on the state of maturity of the grape and the evolution of Botrytis Cinerea, normally known as “noble rot”. The harvest is, therefore, particularly long, and can last up to two months.
