Quinta do Vale Meão 2005 is composed of 65% Touriga Nacional, 25% Touriga Franca and 10% Tinta Roriz and was made under the responsibility of winemaker Francisco de Olazabal and Nicolau de Almeida.
Planted from 1887 on the banks of the Douro River, on a previously vacant land acquired from the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Quinta do Vale Meão was the last great achievement of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira alias "Ferreirinha". Owned by her great-great-grandson Francisco Javier de Olazábal, today it comprises 67 hectares of vineyards planted on land of different geological origins: schist, granite and alluvial.
