The original winery, founded in Ollauri by Federico Paternina, was inaugurated in 1896. In 1922 he expanded his activity by building a large winery in the city of Haro, with modern machinery and innovative facilities. The "Bodega Paternina" was acquired in 1984 by Marcos Eguizábal, together with the "Bodegas Franco-Españolas" in Logroño.
