Persian carpet. Kashmir, Pakistan. Circa 1920.
220,000 knots/m2.
Hand-knotted in pure wool with urban knot. Field decorated with a careful composition based on architectural motifs, vegetal elements, scenes (landscapes, gardens, palaces..., some with animals) and vases, known as "Persepolis design". The border is composed of a band decorated with floral, vegetal and animal elements accompanied by vases. Complementary colors: reds, blues, greens, pinks, sepia, browns...
Measurements: 384 x 295 cm.
