DESCRIPTION

GABRIEL DE LA PUERTA (Mondéjar, 1839-Madrid, 1908).
"Practical treatise on the determination of indigenous and cultivated plants in Spain for medicinal, food and industrial use".

In good condition with Spanish paper covers.
Measurements. 18,5 x 13 x 3,5 cm.
Spanish chemist and pharmacist, member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences and the Royal National Academy of Medicine Gabriel de la Puerta obtained a bachelor's degree in philosophy at the San Isidro Institute of Madrid and in 1862 he graduated in pharmacy at the University of Madrid, where he received his doctorate in 1863. In 1883 he obtained the chair of inorganic chemistry at the Central University of Madrid, and later became a doctor of the Faculty of Sciences. In 1878 he was appointed full member of the Royal National Academy of Medicine, and in 1880 of the Royal National Academy of Pharmacy, of which he was vice-president in 1902.
