Francisco Pomey was a Jesuit, novelist, philologist and French lexicographer. In 1638 he entered the Jesuit novitiate. In 1644, he became prefect of the lower classes of the Collège de la Trinité, in Lyon. In 1671 he published the Dictionnaire royal augmented. His Pantheum Myticum, seu Fabulosa deorum historia, published in 1658 in Lyon and republished several times, served as a manual of mythology until the end of the 18th century.
