Pedro Ciruelo

Pedro Sánchez Ciruelo was a Spanish philosopher, theologian, mathematician, astrologer, astronomer and writer on natural philosophy. Ciruelo first studied grammar and rhetoric at the Studium Artibus in Daroca, which awakened his interest in scholarship. He continued his studies at the University of Salamanca in 1482, where he found interest in logic and mathematics. During his stay at the University of Salamanca, Ciruelo acquired new interests in astronomy and astrology after developing a great appreciation for the works of Abraham Zacuto on these subjects.
