Codex Vindobonensis 93 is the most artistically impressive of the 47 surviving examples of the materia medica text known as the "Herbarius complex". This manuscript collects in its more than 400 full-color miniatures all the botanical medical knowledge of the European Middle Ages.
The present printing of this edition of Medicina Antiqua, Codex Vindobonensis 93 from the Austrian National Library, accompanied by the French translation of the studies by Charles H. Talbot and Franz Unterkircher and the translation of the Latin text into French by Marthe Dulong for the "Musée du LIvre" Collection. This printing is limited to 4700 copies numbered from 1 to 4700 and 100 copies numbered in Roman numerals.
