Of this facsimile edition of the "Pedacio Dioscorides Anazarbeo, about the medicinal matter and the mortiferous poisons" 2.000 numbered copies have been printed, of which the first 200 numbers are artistically bound by the Artisan Printing House of the Excelentísimo Ayuntamiento de Madrid.
In his medicinal material Dioscorides collected all the pharmacological knowledge of his time. His main source of inspiration was the already existing classical works and, above all, his own experience acquired in the Roman army.
