Donated by Philip II to Jaime Honorato Pomar also known as the Pomar codex, due to the name of the professor Jaime Honorato Pomar who popularized the chair and close relations with King Philip II, who presented him with a commemorative square in the Royal Palace and with the gift of the Atlas of Natural History. The codex has 218 engravings of zoology and botany.
