In this scene of idyllic theme can be seen the stylistic echoes of symbolism, coupled with other trends of the time such as expressionism and post-impressionism. Aesthetically reminiscent of the painting of André-Pierre Lupiac, a painter of French origin who trained at the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse. In 1891 he exhibited at the Union Artistique Toulousaine, and two years later he was awarded the Second Grand Prix for painting. From his hometown he moved to Paris, where he continued his training in the workshops of Jean-Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant. In 1900 he exhibited at the Salon de Paris, but his career was interrupted by the Great War, so when he returned he left Paris.
