The 1925 Castillo Ygay Reserva Especial wine is composed of 40% Tempranillo, 19% Garnacha, 17% Mazuelo and 15% Graciano. Made 8 months in tank, 5 years in semi-new American oak barrels and 32.75 years in old American oak barrels. Bottled in April 1964, and relabeled in 1985. This wine has a cherry red color with reddish edges and medium depth, with a slight cloudiness. On the nose, reductive touches that disappear with air and turn into a very ripe fruit, with spicy tones, some animal hints, leather and humidity, wet earth and fungus, as well as noble woods. It does not diminish with time and is always intense and powerful, complex and elegant. In the mouth it is overwhelming, especially for its marked and fresh acidity and its lively and still present tannins. Eternal persistence and final and even balsamic memories.
