Painter, sculptor and goldsmith from Barcelona, Vitriol enrolled in 1953 in the Círculo de San Lucas and in the FAD. Later he wins the first prize in the Wagnerian Plastic Arts competition of 1955, awarded by the Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1957 he established himself as a goldsmith and studied technical procedures at La Llotja, especially fresco painting, where he met Carlos Mensa. In 1973 he exhibited at the Àgora gallery in Sitges and in Barcelona, at the Taller Picasso gallery. In 1976 he founded the group Despierta Hierro, and exhibited at the TRECE gallery. The group gained notoriety with the publication of its manifesto and its appearance on television, but all the members of the group disbanded and Martí was left alone. Between 1979 and 1980 he painted theDresden, a 500x300 cm. mural, currently exhibited at MEAM. It is currently represented in numerous private collections.
