A self-taught painter, Borja Guijarro began his career as an illustrator, and little by little he will focus on painting. He then began to work with a personal interpretation of early twentieth century cubism, and later drifted towards a language closer to pop art, with surrealist elements. Without ever abandoning figuration, Guijarro will also experiment with an expressionist language of great intensity. Since his debut in Madrid in 1991, he has held solo exhibitions both in Spain and in Luxembourg (European Commission - Jean Monet Building, 1996), and has also participated in several group shows, including the Art Santa Fe fair in the United States in 2009.
